Favor, prayer and sacrifice
Game version 1.2.7. Prose checked against 1.2.1.
Favor is your relationship with the god you worship. It is saved, changes through devotion and taboos, and updates your boon when you cross a tier.
| Tier | Minimum Favor | Boon strength (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Follower | 0 | 33 |
| Devout | 25 | 67 |
| Zealot | 50 | 100 |
| Chosen | 75 | 100 |
Devotion
First choose a god at the Temple; the gods and faith page gives the steps. Daily Temple prayer gives 3 Favor. Gold offerings to your god give a Favor point per (your level x 100) gold, with a daily Favor cap of 5. Item offerings give up the item and have a separate daily cap of 4. Cursed and unique items are refused.
Qualifying deeds share a daily cap of 4. Taboos lose Favor rather than consuming that gain allowance. Check your god's page before assuming that the same action pleases every domain. Neglect can also reduce Favor.
Boons and prayer
A higher tier increases your domain boon. Prayer adds a timed blessing; this is not the same as permanently increasing base attributes. At Zealot, the daily prayer blessing lasts longer. The Altars screen shows your current boon, ward and tier.
Mental wards
From Devout, your domain protects a particular Mental loss. Most wards halve their loss category; Sylvana instead cuts dungeon strain. Discordia reduces the fear chance. A ward does not protect against every kind of harm.
Miracles
Chosen unlocks one Miracle a day. The combat key appears when that Miracle can help. Different domains provide different effects: healing, mana recovery, control, a guaranteed critical, escape, a spirit ally or a death save.
Miracles work in eligible monster and story boss fights, not player fights or world boss fights. Mortis's death protection triggers automatically in its eligible context. Saving and reloading does not restore a used daily Miracle. See daily Miracles for the domain-specific effects.
Switching gods
Leaving a god discards your accumulated Favor. A voluntary departure can bring wrath or player-god lightning depending on the god and lost Favor. The Temple asks before switching. Do not change gods expecting both relationships to remain.
