Your first expedition
Game version 1.2.7. Prose checked against 1.2.5.
Treat your first trip as reconnaissance, not a race to the deepest floor.
Before leaving town
- Check Status, health and Mental.
- Compare your equipped weapon and armor with affordable replacements. A higher price is not a substitute for meeting level, strength and class restrictions.
- Carry healing supplies, and mana supplies if your build uses spells.
- Keep gold for treatment and consider depositing surplus at the Bank.
In the dungeon
Read each room and the enemy before choosing an action. Try your ordinary attack first to learn what your character can handle. Use abilities or spells deliberately so that you do not exhaust resources without noticing.
New rooms and completed fights cause depth-dependent Mental strain. HP restoration and Mental recovery are different: healing a wound does not automatically settle your mind. Camp in a cleared room when the rest option is available, or return to town.
Return and improve
Visit the Healer for treatment, the Level Master when eligible to advance, and shops to compare equipment. Review what made the trip dangerous before trying again: poor armor, depleted mana, low Mental and fighting a boss need different solutions.
For the next trip, read combat basics and dungeon travel.
